About George Neighbors

George Neighbors is an award-winning Coach (ICF ACC) for Executives, Leaders & Career Transition; Consultant for Change Management, Communications & Organizations; Facilitator; Faculty for Professional & Workforce Development; and a Transformational Leader

He earned a M.Sc. in Applied Behavioral Science from Johns Hopkins University, Executive Coaching Diploma & Executive Coaching Certificates from Emory University, and multiple certifications and credentials, including Career Exploration Coach, DISC Assessment, Entrepreneurial Coach, Hogan Assessment, International Coaching Federation ACC, Retirement Tranisiton Coach, etc.

His experience includes working across media, entertainment, sports, tech, government, higher education and nonprofits at individual, organizational and community levels

Experience

Through M&A (mergers & acquisitions), reorganizations and transformations across business, nonprofits and government, George brings extensive experience managing people, leading teams, coaching leaders, and advising organizations, teams and individuals through change.

At a crossroads in his own career, George launched X-Roads Advisory offering coaching, consulting and facilitating. In the first year of business, the International Coaching Federation (ICF) Virginia recognized the commitment to transform organizations and leaders with a Certificate of Excellence for Emerging Organization award.

George teaches at Blue Ridge Community College and James Madison University.. He is certified in DISC Assessments, Hogan Assessments, ICF ACC credentialed, Career Exploration Coach, Career Coach, Retirement Transition Coach, and Entrepreneurial Coach.

Prior to X-Roads Advisory, George’s career spanned across global entertainment & media, tech and nonprofits, where he gained experience and led change management initiatives and client services, global operations, communications, talent relations, capacity building, coaching, organizational development and training.

Over two decades at Warners Bros Discovery, as the company evolved from a private to public company, grew internationally, acquired and merged with other businesses, and expanded platforms, he built & led a global client service organization & center of excellence, and managed across a matrixed, hybrid & multinational workforce across iconic content & personalities e.g., MythBusters, Deadliest Catch, Storm Chasers, American Chopper, Dirty Jobs with Mike Rowe, Man vs. Wild with Bear Grylls, Roland Garros, Olympics, etc. and brands e.g, Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, TLC, Oprah Winfrey Network, MotorTrend, CNN, HBO, Eurosport, etc.

Service

In parallel to his corporate career, George provided pro bono consulting and leader coaching to high profile and high potential leaders and professional staff.

He currently volunteers serving on the national nonprofit best practices National Council of the Standards for Excellence Institute, as the Workforce Readiness chair and board of Shenandoah Valley SHRM, on the board development committee of Friends of the Middle River, and volunteered with the Shenandoah Community Capital Fund.
